Mr. Melanson

Hello My Name Is...

Scott Melanson

Hello,

This will be my 28th year of teaching, 20 of which have been in Douglas County Schools. I opened Rocky Heights Middle School and worked as a tech teacher, yearbook adviser, and video production teacher. During my time there, the school received state, national, and international awards in the area of film and journalism. I personally was awarded the first superintendent's "World Class Educator Award" at the school district's 2012 Apple Awards.  The Rocky Heights program was a model and visited by people across the country every year. Because of the success of the program, I worked at the district office with the specific goal of improving video programs K-12 across Douglas County. I returned to teaching and spent the last 7 years at Cimarron, our yearbook program won many national awards, and our video program has been recognized at the state level, often competing against high schools.

I am so excited to be back at Rocky Heights, feels like home!
