Ms. Sharon Majetich
About Me
Hello! I am Sharon Majetich and I have the privilege of teaching Family and Consumer Studies also known as Culinary Arts and Nutrition. Or, as the students most often say, “Cooking Class”. As an Elective teacher, I am committed to making the classroom environment safe, fun and interactive and inclusive.
I strive to be a life-long learner. I began my sixth through twelve teaching career with a Bachelors in History and Political Science from the University of St. Francis followed by a Masters Degree in Reading and Literacy from Lewis University. Both universities are located in Illinois. After moving to Colorado I attended the University of Colorado Denver where I earned another Masters degree in Information and Learning Technology.
While in Illinois I taught both middle and high school social studies courses as well as language arts. I’ve been at Rocky Heights since the school opened and have been in a number of positions - social studies, language arts teacher, Building Resource Coordinator and my favorite position so far, FACS.
In addition to teaching at RHMS I’ve also enjoyed working with students in both clubs and athletics. As a certified running coach I can honestly say I’ve coached thousands of student athletes during cross country and track.
Outside of school I enjoy reading, cooking and baking, running and biking, spending time with my family and my dogs. Additionally I enjoy different volunteering activities to help others.

Because my class is very hands-on and student focused, I only check email during my plan or after school During cross country and track season, the extended day means that emails may not be responded to until the following day.
If a student is absent, or misses something in class, the best way to get the information is to check the FACS
