Hello! I am originally from Minnesota (Skol, and all that) and moved to Colorado after finishing college. I have been teaching since 2018 and I have been at RHMS since 2022. All my years of teaching have been in middle school language arts positions! I love teaching, truly. I am especially passionate about creating a space in which every single student feels seen and heard. Outside of school, you can catch me teaching spin classes or dancing at a concert with friends. I am happy you are here!
I check my email between the hours of 7:15 am - 3:00 pm. If you send an email after school hours, I likely will not read or respond to your email until the next school day.
Hi! I’m Heather Bailey, the 6th-grade science teacher for the Trekkers. I’ve been teaching and loving 6th-grade science at RHMS since 2007! I started my teaching career in 1999 (I’m really dating myself here) in New York before moving to Colorado in 2004. I’ve taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade, but 6th grade at the middle school is my jam! (Do people say “that’s my jam” anymore?). When I’m not in school, I like to spend time with friends, hike, travel, read, and most importantly, have quality time with my husband and daughter. I’m excited to share my passion for science with your sixth grader this year!
The best way to reach me is through email. My email is habailey@dcsdk12.org. I check email during school hours. If you send an email after school hours, I likely will not be able to respond to your email until the next school day.
I also encourage students to email me with any questions or concerns to help them take ownership of their learning and advocate for themselves.
Hello Rocky Heights Families! My name is Marie Stanton, and I am thrilled to be the 6th-grade social studies teacher of the Trekkers team. This year marks my 23rd year of teaching, and I could not be more excited to partner with your student and family. Outside of school, you can find me at a sports venue cheering on one of my three sons. We also love spending time together traveling and exploring!
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, comments, or concerns that you may have. I will be checking email during school hours. Any email communications after school hours may not be answered until the following school day, but I will get back to you within 24 hours of receiving your message!
I have been a teacher at RHMS since 2018. I taught in Manitou Springs for 18 years before moving to Denver. I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and started working in the mountains at a dude ranch in 1995. I fell in love with Colorado and moved after graduating from John Carroll University. Teaching and coaching keep me young at heart and help me connect with kids and families. Being part of the Wellness Department at RHMS is a dream job as I have the opportunity to work on lifelong skills and have fun with students!
Newsletters are sent via IC Messenger from the Trekker Team on Monday afternoons. Students have access to all class information, assignments, links and daily work on the Google Classroom.
Feel free to email anytime with questions about Wellness or sports at RHMS! I check email during school hours and will reply to you within a day.
My name is Drew Archer. This is my third year at RHMS. I support students in Math, Language Arts and Resource. Outside of school, I love hanging out with my boys and watching them compete in sports. I look forward to another year at RHMS with my students!
