Clubs and Activities

General Information

Clubs and Activities at RHMS will be posted as they become available and are subject to change each year based on funding, sponsors, and student interest. All clubs and activities must be approved by the RHMS Athletics and Activities Director and must follow all district guidelines. All students that participate in after school activities must also arrange their own transportation.

Go to MySchoolBucks to register for clubs. Fees vary by club and there is no refund after the first week.
After you register, please print the emergency form and turn it into the club sponsor at the first meeting.

RHMS Clubs & Activities

Be The Light Club

BE THE LIGHT club is a student-led, faith-based group where students gather in a welcoming space to discuss important topics, encourage one another in their faith, learn how to be a light to others, and have fun together.

The club meets every Tuesday from 6:45-7:10am in the presentation room at the back of the Library.

Students will also have opportunities to connect with members of Rock Canyon's BE THE LIGHT club for mentoring and fellowship.

Brain Bowl

Boys Volleyball Club

This club will introduce boys to the game of volleyball and help them enhance their volleyball skills and play games against other schools.

Registration opens 3/6/2026 and closes 4/14/2026

Dates: Tuesday's and Thursday's, 4/14/2026 - 5/14/2026

Time: 3:00-4:00pm in the Gym

Drama Club

Dungeons and Dragons Club

Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) Club is a fun way to learn acting and decision-making skills in an engaging and hands-on way. Members will use the D&D game format to participate in weekly scenarios.

Lovers of the Library Club

Do you love getting lost in a book? Are you looking for a community of readers where you can discuss your latest bookish obsession? Come join us at Lovers of the Library every Wednesday from 3:00-4:00pm! No matter what genre you love reading most, all are welcome here. We will discover new reads together, and challenge ourselves to try out some new genres. All students will have a say in the books that we read, and we will discuss our opinions, thoughts, and questions from the weekly section of chapters!

This club will meet on Wednesday's from 3:00-4:00pm in Rm. 125

Movies, Memories, and Munchies Club

Nighthawk Scholars

Nighthawk Scholars Does your student want to get some extra help on schoolwork? Does your student want to get homework done before heading home? Does your student need a little extra nudge of support to monitor IC and take care of some missing assignments? Nighthawk Scholars Club may be the opportunity you need! This club provides a resource for students to gain support with homework assignments, allows students to access additional resources, and provides an opportunity to learn with their peers and share learning experiences.

You can opt your students into any one (or multiple sessions) and your kids can opt in on their own as well (drop-in style). All you need to do is arrange to pick them up on one of our club dates at 4:00 pm, and all your student needs to do is go to the Library after school, prepared to work on their schoolwork.

Nighthawk Scholars meet Monday-Thursday, 3:00 -4:00 pm in the RHMS Library.

National Junior Honor Society

The National Junior Honor Society is an organization whose purpose is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, to develop character, and to encourage good citizenship in the students of secondary schools.

Rock Climbing Club

This club provides students an opportunity to connect with other climbers, foster a positive social environment, and build community. Beginner and experienced climbers can choose to compete in a middle school climbing league and meet up at local gyms to climb together. Participants will make arrangements for climbing together outside of school. They will learn about the following topics: different types of climbing, gear, practice knot-tying, strength training and flexibility for climbers, and climbing technique. Students will watch instructional videos and videos about famous climbers. Possible traverse on rock wall if gym is available.

This club will meet on Thursday's from 2:50-3:50pm in C5

Meeting dates are as follows: 9/18, 10/10 (Gym), 12/11, 1/15, 2/19, 3/12, 4/2, 4/16, 5/7

Registration opens 8/28/2025 and will close on 10/9/25 or until the club fills up

Student Council

Student Council is a group of students working together to create activities, community service, and fun events for the RHMS student body! It's a great way to be social with your peers and to improve RHMS! The club will meet Wednesdays before school 6:45 - 7:20 am in the Library.

Student Council meetings will begin 3/25/26 until 5/20/26

Art Club

Love art? Join Mrs. King's Art Club! We will draw, paint, and even work a little bit with clay! Art Club is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th graders. We will meet in Mrs. King's art room every Tuesday in the second quarter except for 10/21 due to Student Conferences. Sign up on MySchoolBucks!

The Art Club will meet every Tuesday in Room 239 from 2:50-4:15pm.

Arts & Craft Club

Arts & Craft Club is an opportunity for students to have the space to be creative for a couple of hours once a week on Monday's for 7 weeks. We will go from designing our own sketch book, canvas painting, decorative picture frames, creating figures from felt, perler beads, origami, and other additional items. These will all be items they can keep, gift and take home. I am so excited to create a fun afterschool art space to work and create items with our RHMS students!

Chess Club

Come join friends and make new ones while learning to be a formidable chess player. All levels of Chess players are welcomed to join. Feel free to bring your own board!

Math Counts

French Club

Jeunes Amis du Français is a National Honorary Society for middle school students. Our local school chapter provides a vehicle to focus activities around French language as well as Francophone cultures. In Addition, students can acquire leadership skills by participating in age appropriate service activities and leading chapter events. By the end of the year, students who qualify will be inducted and receive an official certificate from the JAF.

This club meets Wednesdays from 2:45-3:45 in Chalet 9 on the following days - 3/25/26 - 5/20/26

7th Girls Weight Training

This club will meet on Monday's and Wednesday's from 3:00-4:00pm in the Weight Room in the gym, and will teach girls proper form and mechanics of weight training along with teaching them why weight training is so important. No experience necessary. Come learn how fun it is to become stronger and healthier.

Registration will open 1/23/26 and close on 2/2/26
