General Information

Clubs and Activities at RHMS will be posted as they become available and are subject to change each year based on funding, sponsors, and student interest. All clubs and activities must be approved by the RHMS Athletics and Activities Director and must follow all district guidelines. All students that participate in after school activities must also arrange their own transportation.

Go to MySchoolBucks to register for clubs. There is a minimum of a $30 charge (fees vary by club and there is no refund after the first week).
After you register, please print the emergency form and turn it into the teacher at the first meeting.

Art Club

Love to do art? Mrs. King will be offering an Art Club after school on Thursday's from 2:50-4:15pm. We will start October 31st. We will do a variety of activities including drawing, painting, and clay. Art Club is open to all students in grades 6-8. Sign up early! Art Club always sells out fast! Register in MySchoolBucks!

Registration opens September 30, 2024 and closes on October 31, 2024.
The Art Club will meet every Thursday in Room 239 from 2:50-4:15pm.

Boys Volleyball

Chess Club

Come join friends and make new ones while learning to be a formidable chess player. All levels of Chess Players are welcomed to join. Feel free to bring your own board!

Meetings will be every Friday that school is in session, 2:45-4:00pm in Room 243.

Dungeons and Dragons

The Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) Club is a fun way to learn about acting and decision-making skills in an engaging and hands-on way. Members will use the D&D game format to participate in weekly scenarios.

Flying Solo

French Honor Club

French Club - Quarter 4

Jeunes Amis du Français is a National Honorary Society for middle school students. Our local school chapter provides a vehicle to focus activities around French language as well as Francophone cultures. In Addition, students can acquire leadership skills by participating in age appropriate service activities and leading chapter events. By the end of the year, students who qualify will be inducted and receive an official certificate from the JAF.

Math Counts

Math Counts is a club for students to learn high-level competitive math skills. We will prepare and compete at the State competition in February.

Nighthawk Scholars

Do you or your student want to get some extra help on school work? Do your kids want to get homework done before heading home? Do your students need a little extra nudge of support to monitor IC and take care of some missing assignments? Nighthawk Scholars Club may be the opportunity you need! This club provides a resource for students to gain support with homework assignments, allow students to access additional resources, and an opportunity to learn with their peers and share learning experiences.

You can opt your students into any one (or multiple sessions) and your kids can opt in on their own as well (drop in style). All you need to do is arrange to pick them up on one of our club dates at 4:00pm, and all your student needs to do is go to the Library after school prepared to do some work!

Nighthawk Scholars meet every Tuesday and Thursday, 3:00-4:00pm in the RHMS Library.

NJHS

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is an honors club for eighth graders. The purpose of NJHS is to promote scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship. Acceptance into NJHS is by invitation only. Candidates eligible for election to the chapter shall have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale with no Cs in Content Knowledge in quarters 1-3 of their 7th grade year. Candidates shall have a minimum of 5 As each quarter with no Cs in Work Habits.

Students must fill out an essay application as well as an application that details their character and service. A team of RHMS teachers will review the applications for formal acceptance into NJHS. Students accepted into NJHS will participate in an induction ceremony.

Ping Pong Club

Pre-Season Track and Field

This camp will serve as an introduction to track and field events and serve as pre-season conditioning for those students planning on participating in the track and field programs at RHMS.

Student Council

Student Council gives a voice to the student body and the development of leadership skills by creating, organizing, and carrying out various school activities. Plans include spirit days, a Homecoming parade float, supporting RCHS Wish Week, a food drive, a sock drive supporting our school library, a school-wide social event/dance, and more! These activities are driven and produced by students with support from the sponsors and staff. There will be an opportunity to run for Student Council Officer positions, open to 7th and 8th Grade students. Officers should plan to commit to joining Student Council in all four quarters. Students must sign up each quarter to participate.

The club will meet on Wednesdays before school 6:50-7:20am in Room 217.

6th/7th Grade Girls Dance Club

All 6th and 7th grade girls welcome! Dance Club is an opportunity for students to get to know each other, choreograph their own dances, and experience different genres of music. No experience necessary, all welcome! Meetings will be every Tuesday from 6:30am - 7:15am.

7th/8th Girls Strength Training

This club will meet on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 3:00-4:00pm in the Weight Room in the gym, and will teach girls proper form and mechanics of weight training along with teaching them why weight training is so important. No experience necessary. Come learn how fun it is to become stronger and healthier.
