Language Arts

Students will begin reading their book club novels and enhance their understanding of key ideas by incorporating a piece of media. Friday, students will discuss their books and media.


Students will also be analyzing how the author's purpose and text structure impacts a reader’s understanding and interpretation of the larger meaning of a text.


ALA We will do a second read on Wild: The Pacific Crest Trail and analyze the author’s purpose and text structure. We will then transition into comparing the text structure of a paired reading about “Restless Genes” and “The Art of Choosing.”


LA  Students will read and analyze the text structure of Ronald Reagan’s Address to the Nation on the Challenger Space Shuttle Explosion.

This week we will be going through the Constitution and the influences on the Constitution.  


We will be conducting a series of informational readings and completing graphic organizers.

Students who need to take the Waves Test should plan on taking it when they have at least 30 consecutive minutes to work on it since once they start the test, they need to finish it. 

On block day this week students will be doing the Waves CER and we will be reviewing CERs during class on Tuesday.

This week is a health week. We will finish healthy relationships. Students will be applying what they learned about healthy relationships in a project.

-Do you or your student want to get some extra help on schoolwork? 

-Do your kids want to get homework done before heading home? 

-Do your students need a little extra nudge of support to monitor IC and take care of some missing assignments?

Scholars Club meets EVERY TUESDAY AND THURSDAY!!! 3:00 - 4:00 pm in the RHMS Library

1 = Regular redirects/reminders within the defined criteria. Conduct creates a disruption to the learning environment.  Parent Contact & Intervention necessary.
