Rocky Heights Career Fair

Friday, November 8, 2024

On Friday, November 8, our 8th graders get to take part in a RHMS sponsored Career Fair.  We have presenters coming from various areas of the workforce presenting their career journeys.  8th graders have prepared for this since 6th grade, taking assessments to see where their strengths and interests lie and how to use them in a post-secondary workforce.

This year, during the week of October 7th, 8th-grade students will have lessons in career exploration and set goals for themselves in Naviance.  All Douglas County high schools use Naviance in planning, submitting, and applying for college, so it’s important for parents to become familiar with it as your child moves into High School.  We would love for you to follow up with them at home, and ask them what they’ve learned about themselves and what goals they have set.

Please stress to your children that this is an important day and only their best behavior will be expected during the time in which these volunteers are dedicating their knowledge and expertise to this event.

We appreciate all of the parents who offered their time to encourage our students and hope that as this event grows, we can use more and more of you.
