This week students will begin reading literature in their fiction unit: Everyone Loves a Mystery. We will read Oranges by Gary Soto and analyze how the author makes the seemingly mundane at least somewhat exciting. Students will build on these idea as they begin the planning process for writing their own personal narrative.

This week we are looking at the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere and debating whether or not history “got it right.”
We will also be completing a series of Cornell Notes on the beginning of the Revolutionary War.
We will conclude our week by completing a source analysis and CER on the Battle of Lexington and Concord.
