As the cold and flu season has hit our classrooms hard this week, we are in need of some supplies. We have also added incentives for our Gator Teams, weekly raffles, and Monthly Award celebrations. If you would like to contribute, please see this link. 


Language Arts

This week Language Arts students will be given some class time to read their self-selected narrative novels. They will also use their reading skills to analyze their novels (summary, annotations, context clues, and theme). We will also study writing craft and how author’s build suspense, which will help them begin the planning process for their suspenseful narrative.

This week we are working on our Fall Common Writing Assessment.  This is a pre-test.  We will then be looking at the story of the Amistad, and also working on the causes and build up to the Revolutionary War.

Students who need to make up the Kinetic vs. Potential Energy Quiz should plan on doing so during team time on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Grades for the quiz will be entered in Infinite Campus later this week.

This week we’ll be working on our Thermal Energy Transfer unit.

Thursday 9/19 - ANYTHING BUT A BACKPACK DAY

  • Students can bring their books to school in anything but a backpack! Think outside the box!

NOTE: On Thursday, bring your school supplies in something like a bucket, a beach towel or bag, dog carriers, crates, etc. You can not use the elevator this day, so make sure you can SAFELY carry your "backpack" up and down stairs!

7th grade girls volleyball and 6th-8th grade coed flag football registration is now open and will close on Sunday, Sept 8th at 10pm. The first day of practice is on Monday, Sept. 9th.


Join Student Council! Go to My School Bucks and sign up for QUARTER ONE! Our first meeting will take place on WEDNESDAY, September 4th in ROOM 217 at 6:50 AM! We can't wait to see you and look forward to working with you!  Mrs. Regan and Ms. Haynes


Introducing our Nighthawk Scholars Club! 

This club provides a resource for students to gain support with homework assignments, allow students to access additional resources, and an opportunity to learn with their peers and share learning experiences. 

We would like to invite you to opt-in your student if you think this is a good resource for your student. Your student will have an opportunity  to “opt” themselves in as well.  

Below are the dates for club sessions are September 10th & 12th and September 24th & 26th from 3:00-4:00 pm in the library.
